Dominican coffee still feels like a novelty in this market, even though it is deeply woven into everyday life across the island. Most of the harvest is consumed in the Dominican Republic itself, and only a small share of annual production ever reaches export.

Why we care
For VCR, this is less about novelty for novelty’s sake and more about showing a fuller coffee story: mountain terroir, local consumption, process diversity, and a connection back to the Dominican Republic beyond the cup.
